Police nets shabu in Subic, Marijuana in Olongapo

Olongapo City --- Three people were arrested by police authorities here in two separate buy bust operations netting some P120,000 worth of shabu and 1.5 kilos of marijuana.

According to police reports, the suspects as Kadil Akmad, 37, a resident of the Calapandayan, Subic, Zambales, Anthony Alonzo, 30, a resident of Yellow Bell St. and Narciso Bautista, 28, a resident of Silahis St. also in New Cabalan.

Some five (5) sachets of suspected shabu weighing more than eight grams with an estimated street value of P120,000 was recovered from Akmad while some 1.5 kilos of marijuana were taken from Alonzo anf Baustista.

Police operatives conducted the two buy bust operations led by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group headed by PCINSP Ponce Rogelio Peniones Jr. and the Criminal Investigation Unit, City Anti Illegal Drugs Special Operation Taskforce of the Olongapo City Police Office headed by PCINSP Julius Domingo in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) last December 8.

Charges of illegal possession and selling of illegal drugs under Article II of RA 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act were been filed against the suspects.

The arrests are part of the police’s campaign against illegal drugs in the city dubbed as ‘Oplan Bertha.’(30)
